A chilling new public service announcement released Wednesday by the gun-violence prevention organization Sandy Hook Promise shows children using back-to-school supplies while trying to survive a school shooting.
The ad ends with a sobbing girl texting her mother “I love you” as she hides from the shooter in a darkened bathroom. The group, formed in the wake of the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Conn., has been producing award-winning PSAs, including “Evan” and the Emmy-nominated “Point of View” , in its efforts to combat gun violence.
