Emily Hampshire, 41, is an actress and writer best known for playing Stevie Budd in TV’s “Schitt’s Creek.” She currently stars in Prime Video’s “The Rig” and is the author of “Amelia Aierwood: Basic Witch” , her first graphic novel. She spoke with Marc Myers. I did a lot of hiding and spying as a child. Under the stairs in our house, there was a closet that became my private sanctuary. I liked being in there by myself. It felt like I lived on my own.
