Keith Miles gave a state of the district address.
The School District of Lancaster welcomed a new leader for this school year.Dr. Keith Miles started in July. But on Thursday, he got a chance to share his vision for the district with community leaders.'Every other month, I get to meet with a superintendent's cabinet, which is a group of students at McCaskey,' Miles said.It's students that Miles is focusing on.'Hearing their causes. They're social justice warriors. They're looking out for their neighbors.
He called on the community and business leaders in attendance to work with him. 'I hope they have a better view of where we want to go with the district they're poised to work with us, so we can wrap services and supports around our students and do the great work that we need to do together,' he said.Miles took on his new role after a lengthy search.Many in the district wanted long-time administrator Matt Przywara to get the job.
