East Hempfield Township Police confirm that around 7:57a.m., on Monday, October 30, officers were dispatched to Rte 283 after receiving complaints of a school v
The Police Department say they received multiple calls from concerned motorists about this van, which was reportedly driving much slower than the posted 65mph speed limit.Police intercepted the school van on Route 283 Eastbound and pulled it over east of the State Rd. exit, according to a press release.
According to officials, Shumberger was given standard field sobriety tests, but was unable to perform to a satisfactory level. Officials confirm there were four students riding in the school van, from ages 9 to 18 years old. They were traveling from the Harrisburg area to an educational facility in Mount Joy.
