JUST IN: Schools in Putnam and Columbia counties will close later this week due to Hurricane Ian.
– As Hurricane Ian gains strength and approaches Florida, school districts in Columbia and Putnam counties decided Monday to close schools later this week.
“Many factors are considered when opening a shelter, so even if our community experiences minimal physical effects from the storm, our district plays an important role in the response from the EOC,” Putnam Schools wrote on its website.
