Scotland's best fish and chip shops named - does your local make top 60 list?
Scotland's best fish and chip takeaways and restaurants have been named in an influential guide to the best chippies across the UK.
Out of the takeaways named, seven are located across Scotland—from Aberdeenshire to Stirling. Three of the 10 best restaurants are also situated in Scotland. Meanwhile, CATCH in Glasgow, Dunkeld Fish Bar in Perth, and Quayside Restaurant in Aberdeenshire were three of the just 10 UK restaurants awarded.
Competition organiser Reece Head commented: “Once again we’ve had another year where it’s simply got harder to operate a fish and chip business, with rising energy, labour and ingredient costs taking a heavy toll. It’s not easy but operators are working harder and smarter, staying ahead of changing tastes and behaviours and adapting accordingly.
