A Scots mum has told how she discovered she had cancer on her birthday. Jill MacGregor, 58, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, describing the news as “some birthday present”.
More than £147,000 was raised in total at Race for Life Edinburgh, vital funds which will enable scientists to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer helping to save more lives. The now 58-year-old mum endured surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer on November 28, 2013.
“No matter how insignificant a symptom may seem, if it doesn’t go away it’s important to speak to your doctor." “I’m also supporting in memory of some beautiful friends who have suffered and we’ve lost to this horrible disease.”
