Scottish Government funds new service to support young crime victims amid Record campaign

The Scottish Government is funding a new service to help young people across the country who have experienced criminal activity.

The move is welcomed by Angela Jarvis, 43, whose daughter Abbie was beaten unconscious in a skatepark in Glasgow on October 4, 2022. Abbie, who is autistic, was hospitalised for two days following the beating and has since been diagnosed with PTSD. She continued: "The Government still needs to look at the bigger picture and get to the bottom of the problem itself. We also need to prevent these attacks from taking place. Services like Kibble will be inundated with victims, so we must make sure they are not facing long waiting lists because we aren't doing enough to stop the violence."

“SAFE Service continues to build on work already underway to improve the lives of children, young people, adults and families have access to the trauma-informed support they need to avoid the risk of further trauma and more serious long-term consequences.”
