The judge said Hillier and Fulstow had 'showed no remorse' for the murder of Liam Smith
Screams of "scum!" rang out in the courtroom today as the couple who murdered dad-of-two Liam Smith were sentenced to life in prison.
Sentencing the couple, Judge Maurice Greene said Hillier and Fulstow had "showed no remorse" for the "the brutal and cold blooded" murder. He said: "The two of you decided to act as judge, jury and executioner. You, Hillier, to carry out the attack, with Fulstow's assistance. Fulstow, you found the information enabling Mr Smith to be found.
"The two of you having murdered him, showing no remorse whatsoever, went on holiday to Jamaica. It was the arrest of another man that led to your detection, as he had been found with false number plates, intending to be used on the Shogun." Before being led to the cells, Hillier shouted back to Liam Smith's family: "He's a rapist", leading to a number of people shouting "evil", "you should hang from a noose" and "evil b***h".
