Sean Dyche believes Everton would have avoided some of the historical mistakes that have plagued his time on Merseyside had he been in place earlier.
Dyche added: “I would not have let that happen because it would not be good for the club and eventually it is going to hurt the club. That would be my opinion. And I know I can say that because I did that at another club. I can stand true to that.” Dyche was speaking as he sought to argue that progress had been made on the pitch at Everton this season. He accepted he was not happy at setting the club record for a winless run in the Premier League with the draw at Newcastle United on Tuesday and was aware Everton could still be dragged into a third consecutive relegation fight.
