First major dolphin DNA study flinders
Conclusion
Our study suggest that conservation and policy efforts towards common dolphins should preserve diversity as well as connectivity, and take into consideration cumulative impacts on the putatively adaptive populations as a proxy of evolutionary potential. The GEA analysis indicated that common dolphin genomic variation is impacted by four key environmental variables, which in turn are likely related to three oceanographic phenomena that characterise this broad ocean region.
