“I think God made me good at chicken fingers to help me help people,” Graves says in an interview with. He believes letting other people share their trials and triumphs on TV is inspirational. To be clear, he doesn’t plan on becoming the Martha Stewart of chicken fingers.Starting with the first episode of the show, Graves introduces himself as “fry cook” and “cashier” first, then as an “entrepreneur owning over 700 restaurants.
Todd Graves, left, has been friends with rapper Snoop Dogg for years. He was featured recently on two TV shows with Graves: 'Restaurant Recovery,' which aired in 2021, and 'Secret Sauce,' which started airing in 2023 on A&E. In the show, Graves stands next to the armpit of his towering friend Shaq, who was told he wasn’t good enough to play basketball when he was 13. Shaq recalls being “terrified,” saying he wanted to quit the game altogether.
Graves knows that feeling. “I got the worst grade in my business planning class,” he says. The chicken-finger concept Graves created in that college course became Raising Cane’s. More than 25 years after the first Cane’s opened, the company expects $3.6 billion in sales this year. The company is on pace to open 100 restaurants every 12 months.Baton Rouge, La., will forever be the home of Raising Cane’s, but its operations office is in Plano.
