News 8 On Your Side got an exclusive look inside Susquehanna Valley Amazon operations.
When you order something from Amazon, do you know how the products make it to you?As part of the company's annual 'Delivering the Future' campaign, it gave 8 Your Side consumer investigator Brian Roche a look at some of its latest technology.Much of this technology can be found in a monstrous new building in York County that just opened in June.When you buy something on Amazon, chances are pretty good. It will be quickly found in this fulfillment center and sent on its way to you.
'The moment it goes into an aisle, the truck is smart enough to see the wire and it guides it perfectly down the center of the aisle, so there's zero opportunity for human error,' Washenko said. The facility has more than 200 of these vehicles, and all of them are powered by hydrogen.'We have four hydrogen fueling stations at our site,' Washenko said.
