Pools like the new Oak Point aquatic facility will operate through Monday, Sept. 4.
The Jack Carter Pool attracted the most people this summer with a total 2023 summer attendance of 61,825. The pool’s busiest day of the year was on June 9 when 1,572 attendees visited. In its first summer of operation, the new outdoor pool at Oak Point Recreation Center welcomed 35,659 visitors. At the Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center, also, the outdoor pool entry point recorded 15,717 total membership scans this summer.
" … This, as well as Oak Point’s numbers, do not include those who may have checked in at the main lobby and walked over to the pool,” Crimmins said.The new pool facility at the Oak Point Recreation Center opened in late May, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Plano voters approved $10 million for the project included in the 2017 bond referendum.
