One cosplayer offers an exciting take on Selene.
A stunning new Selene cosplay showcases the twisted, ultimate form of Rogue’s powers. One of the most powerful mutants on Earth, Selene has long been a thorn in the side of the X-Men. Her vampire-like powers have allowed her to exist for thousands of years, at the cost of the lives of innocent people. Now, cosplayer zombilicious has brought Selene to chilling life.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Zombilicious unveiled the cosplay shoot in a series of posts on Instagram. The first photo is a close-up of Selene’s upper body. She is holding a skull in a pose that alludes to William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The second photo, taken a month earlier, shows the Selene cosplay in all its glory. The design comes from the recent Immortal X-Men title, in which Selene played a huge role.
Selene Is an Evil Mutant Double Threat Born countless millennia ago, Selene’s mutant powers, to draw the life essences of others, have allowed her to live for centuries. Selene faced Conan the Barbarian in the distant Hyborian Age and was in Rome during its apex. In the modern days, Selene is a member of the Hellfire Club’s Inner Circle, and she was an early enemy of the New Mutants. Her vampiric powers make her a terrifying villain, and Selene was a threat even during the Krakoan era.
Zombilicious’ cosplay brings Selene’s most recent look, from the Immortal X-Men, to convincing life. The cosplay is comics’ accurate, reflecting the character’s recent redesign. Zombilicous’ Selene cosplay perfectly captures what makes Selene one of the X-Men’s darkest foes. The first photo, showing Selene posing with the skull, shows her blatant disregard for life—it is not a stretch to see the skull as belonging to one of her victims.
