its own sustainable wedding wear pop-up boutique inside its Oxford Street flagship store.
After announcing its marriage license in May 2021, Selfridges has launched a 5-week pop-up wedding wear store, RESELLFRIDGES: The Wedding. The shop caters for those looking for second hand or rented wedding apparel, specialising in unique and vintage archive pieces. Curated by vintage and design experts, coveted pieces from fashion’s most iconic designers have been hand-picked ,from a corset by Vivienne Westwood to Alexander McQueen ensembles.
“Our RESELLFRIDGES pieces are unique, one-of-a-kind finds from some of fashion’s most poignant moments,” says Re-SEE co-founder Sofia Bernadin. “A personal favourite is our Tom Ford autumn/winter 1996 red velvet suit, previously worn by Gwyneth Paltrow.” The project runs as part of the Project Earth campaign in its latest sustainable push to reinvent the future of shopping. Buying and Merchandising Director Sebastian Manes said, “this year more than ever, our customers are more considerate in how they live and shop, and weddings are no exception.” The concept also includes repairs as part of Selfridges upcycling service, The Restory.
