Sen. John Kennedy criticized President Joe Biden amid Hamas's attack against Israel, claiming that the United States's enemies believe he is"a bit of a weenie" on national defense.
While appearing on The Story with Martha MacCallum, Kennedy was asked about a recent explosion at a Gaza hospital, which killed at least 500 people, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry. Kennedy criticized Hamas for not allowing Palestinian civilians to leave the country to avoid the conflict between the group and Israel. He also stated that people need to ask themselves,"Why are we here?" with the answer being that Biden is"not a defense hawk.
The Louisiana senator also argued that foreign nations have taken note that the U.S."refuses to give Ukraine the weapons that it needs to win." He stated that Biden has failed to enforce sanctions on Iranian oil properly and has tried to"give the Iranians over not $6 billion but $10 billion." "I could continue, but the point is our enemies have concluded that America has a president who is a bit of a weenie on national defense, and Xi and Putin and the ayatollah think they can roll over him like thunder on a summer night," Kennedy said."And that's, I think, why we’re here. Peace through weakness never works. These are hard men.
The war between Israel and the terrorist organization known as Hamas started on Oct. 7, when the group launched a large surprise attack against Israel during one of its holy days; as of Tuesday, over 4,000 people have been killed so far, including 30 Americans. The Israeli Defense Forces announced Tuesday that prominent Hamas Commander Ayman Nofal was killed in an airstrike that occurred in the morning.
