The U.S. Open tennis tournament ended yesterday and history was made, as several competitors broke ground as the firsts, while 27-year veteran Serena Williams punctuated her career by participating in what is thought to be her last match:

He defeated veteran Rafael Nadal in the fourth round before beating Andrey Rublev 7-6 , 7-6 last Wednesday. Though Tiafoe was eliminated by Alcaraz Friday.

She beat Caroline Garcia 6-1, 6-3 on Sept. 9, marking her second consecutive appearance at a Grand Slam title match. She was also a finalist at Wimbledon two months ago.While human officiants are typically used to determine if a ball was inbounds or not,Optical technology made the decision in some of the U.S. Open matches.
