Grayson Ramage rode 100km on Beau for Canter for a Cure to raise funds for The Bone Cancer Research Trust
A seven-year-old boy has courageously raised £470 riding his pony Beau for a cancer charity after losing his “Granny Wylie” almost a year ago.
Grayson Ramage, who lives in Dumfries and is a pupil at Calside Primary, rode 100km in September in a challenge called Canter for a Cure, which raises much-needed funds to help patients diagnosed with primary bone cancer. The endeavour was all the more challenging as the youngster has only been riding for just over a year. His proud mum, Rebecca, said her mum, Diane, was 64 when she died in November, just five weeks after her diagnosis.
She said: “Grayson rode this challenge in memory of his Granny Wylie. She died of pancreatic cancer very suddenly, but we felt cancer is cancer and we wanted to do this challenge to raise money.” The family are grateful to everyone who supported them with donations for the Canter for a Cure challenge.
