'The only way to challenge these roadblocks, these systemic inequities, the subtle sexism, and the epidemic of abuse and assault is to dismantle the policies in place to maintain the status quo.' –KatieHill4CA
I share my own story about my near-suicide in the aftermath of my resignation, as well as the consequences of the sexual assaults I experienced early in life in my new book,. I talk about all of this in the context of figuring out how to dismantle the misogynistic systems and barriers that hold us back, that often lead to the mental health disparities between girls and boys, women and men.
I share my deeply personal stories to help girls and women know that they are not alone, that in spite of our scars we have to stand up and keep fighting, because we can’t afford not to.Importantly, I share all of this because the reason we need to stand up and keep fighting is simple but critical: the only way to challenge these roadblocks, these systemic inequities, the subtle sexism, and the epidemic of abuse and assault is to dismantle the policies in place to maintain the status quo.
