I write about TV shows like House Of The Dragon, The Witcher, The Rings Of Power, Stranger Things, Yellowjackets, Severance and many others. I also cover movies, video games, comic books and novels, largely in the fantasy, science-fiction, horror and superhero genres.

just might be my favorite show on TV right now. I’m a bit behind on my reviews, however, and I have three reasons for that: First off, life has been rather hectic over the past few weeks and I’m pretty much behind on everything. Second, sometimes when I really like a show, I find myself wanting to watch and enjoy it and not go about the dirty business of picking it all apart. You can’t have your critic brain turned onit was gone. For whatever reason, no drafts of the post exist.

Complications arise and Toranaga is forced to negotiate with the Portuguese Jesuits and captain of the Black Ship to find safe passage out of the harbor. Blackthorne is left behind, but through some expert and enthusiastic piloting skills manages to sail the Japanese ship close enough to the Black Ship to escape—with a little help from the Spanish navigator Vasco Rodrigues .After they escape, Toranaga commands Blackthorne to teach him to dive.

Toranaga also gives the Anjin a gift of a pheasant, which the Englishman hangs to mature outside his house. His Japanese companions are not familiar with this type of meat aging, and find it only slightly less grotesque than the rabbit stew he makes one evening for himself, Mariko, Buntaro and Fuji. Soon, the dinner turns into a drinking contest between the two men. Buntaro clearly despises Blackthorne, and Blackthorne learns quickly to reciprocate the animosity .

Buntaro turns but instead of drawing his sword, he kneels to the ground and places it before him on the path. He blames the sake for his behavior, which only enrages Blackthorne more. But Buntaro apologizes again, asking to be pardoned for bringing discord into his home. Disgusted, Blackthorne walks back into his home, only just then noticing that the two arrows, drunkenly shot, were each stuck close to the other on the right gate post.
