HONG KONG—Shanghai’s health authorities said three Covid-19 patients have died, the first Covid-related deaths to be reported in the Chinese financial capital since a widespread outbreak last month prompted a citywide lockdown.
In a report published Monday on its official social-media account, the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission said the deaths were of an 89-year-old woman, a 91-year-old woman and a 91-year-old man. The three patients had been admitted to local hospitals, the commission said.
