Director Shawn Levy believes Wolverine's inclusion in Deadpool 3 will keep the franchise's DNA while helping it evolve.
“Once we knew it was a Wolverine-Deadpool movie, my God, what a gift to any storyteller,” Levy told Josh Horowitz on an episode of. “Not only do you have two icon actors playing their most iconic roles, but you have two characters whose dynamic is already famously fraught. And anytime you’re dealing with characters who start from a place of deep dislike and conflict and difference from each other . . . what a great formula for storytelling.
Levy directs Deadpool 3 and will produce alongside Reynolds and Kevin Feige. The writing team on Deadpool 3 features Levy, Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.
