EXCLUSIVE: Horrifying new figures show all-time high of 3204 children living in substandard stop-gap housing in Glasgow as of August 1.
More than 3000 homeless kids are stuck in “squalid” temporary accommodation for the first time ever in Glasgow , horrifying news stats reveal.
It comes ahead of Finance Secretary Shona Robison’s statement on the public finances on Tuesday where it’s feared she could further wield the axe after £196million was slashed from affordable housing earlier this year. He added: “The other terrible statistic is that there are 97 families living in hellhole hotels - that’s a quadrupling of families with children in these hotels.
“When Glasgow declared its housing emergency, we made clear that actions must swiftly follow words and that a declaration must be the start of a journey which ends with everyone in the city having somewhere warm, safe, and secure to call home.“Making progress will require urgent, radical action from every level of government to support failing local homelessness services and to deliver the social homes we so desperately need.
