Shocking moment yobs vandalise gravestones at Scots cemetery
THIS is the shocking moment a young vandal was filmed ripping up graves and smashing headstones at a Scots cemetery.The youngster was filmed on Snapchat carrying out the vile attacks on the graves.A second video showed him throwing a brick multiple times at another.Several marks were left on the plaque after he smashed the brick off it.Police Scotland have confirmed that they are aware of the vandalism.
It is understood the headstone that was ripped out the ground has been fixed, while workers are trying to identify the exact plot that was damaged with the brick.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are aware of the vandalism and are carrying out enquiries." A Highland Council spokesperson said: “The Council urges anyone who witnesses vandalism to please report vandals to Police on 101 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
"Vandalism, while not only criminal, is a total waste of taxpayers’ money and diverts resources from council works and services.”
