Officers were called to the 6400 block of Royal Lane, between Preston and Hillcrest roads, about 2:15 a.m. and discovered that a boy and a woman had been shot. Police said 30-year-old Jakeith Huntley was arrested on a charge of capital murder in the slaying. He was booked into the Dallas County jail, and his bail had not been set Saturday afternoon. It was not clear whether he had an attorney.
Lisa Scott, who identified herself as Jeremiah Green’s grandmother, said her daughter Jocelyn Green, 31, was hospitalized. The family was waiting to hear whether she would need surgery.
