One shopper is extremely concerned for Christmas
Shoppers have voiced concern over how they will put food on the table at Christmas as the prices of everyday items continue to increase. Many people in Bulwell have said they are shopping around much more to find the best deals amid the cost of living crisis.
“Luckily I drive but for others who have to stay restricted to one supermarket because they can’t get on the bus with all their shopping, or they live too far from a superstore, they’re probably missing out on a load of discounts. “I go all over sometimes and always price match online. I’d say I’ve seen an increase in milk, meat, pasta and rice the most and I’m seeing less buy one get one for half price type deals.
Data from the Office for National Statistics shows many food items have increased in recent months. At Morrisons, the lowest-priced food items have increased by 17% over the 12 months to September 2022.
