Huge with 90s girl bands, the military-inspired look has made a big comeback after being embraced by designer brands
In the world of fashion, everything old eventually becomes new again - and a style of trousers loved by celebrities in the 90s is currently back in a big way. Hailed by Vogue as a "key staple" for summer 2023, cargo paints have been trending again thanks to designer brands like Stella McCartney and Miu Miu.
The £29.99 cuffed cargo trousers have utility pockets for a trendy touch and a soft cotton finish. As well as the standard khaki, they come in five other colours - black, dark grey, stone, mink and navy and have a near-perfect 4.7 out of 5 rating on the New Look website. Erica Jane said: "Lovely loose but stylish fit. Pockets would be better with a button or popper but are very functional Elasticated back but buttoned front gives them a smarter look but with a good fit." Mallory in Wiltshire said: "Lovely soft textured cargos. So comfortable to wear and can be dressed up or down.". Meanwhile Karensb said: "Absolutely love these. So comfortable and trendy. Great buy. Would recommend.
Some shoppers reported that their pairs had a looser fit after being washed. Han T24 said: "I have 3 pairs of these and absolutely love them! The fit is perfect and I always choose them out my wardrobe instead of jeans now. The only thing I’d say is they do loosen slightly after been worn a while so just bear that in mind when selecting your size."
