President Trump has proposed eliminating Public Service Loan Forgiveness for the 3rd time. Here's what borrowers need to know and why most shouldn't be worried about the change:

It would exclude borrowers who are completing their current course study. As such, it appears that borrowers who are already eligible for the program would be grandfathered in under the current proposal. And this makes sense - if your loans are currently eligible, then you can continue to be eligible. If you take out new loans after the change - they won't be eligible.
While the result of this change may negatively impact some borrowers , the reality is borrowers who are currently eligible won't see any impact with the current proposal.public service loan forgiveness
