After checking the CDC guidelines and consulting two infectious-disease experts, we can confidently tell you: Don’t worry about it. The CDC does not currently recommend gloves for running errands or going to the grocery store.
For those who are living with or caring for someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, you’re going to want to use disposable gloves. It’s also not a bad idea to wear gloves while disinfecting surfaces around your home — although that’s more to protect your skin from the chemicals in cleaning products than from the coronavirus. In this case, you can wear either disposable or reusable gloves, like dishwashing gloves.
