Newport library in Shropshire has taken on staff and increased its opening hours since it changed hands in April.
A town council library has recruited additional staff and increased its opening hours since taking over the running of the service.
Nationally, more than 180 council-run facilities have either been closed or handed over to volunteer groups over the past eight years. "We need to be here, we need to be open, and the community needs to be able to come into this space," she added. Dawley Library, which was inside the former Phoenix Academy on Duce Drive, and the library in Shawbury both closed in 2016.
