Sir Ian McKellen says he has no plans to retire from acting and wants to reprise his role as Gandalf in a new Lord of the Rings film. But the two-time Oscar nominee, 85, says he is planning to 'take the rest of the year off' following a fall on stage.

It has already been reported a new swathe of The Lord Of The Rings films is in the works with Andy Serkis directing and starring in the first instalment called the The Hunt for Gollum.
