Live blog: Updates & analysis as six Democrats face off in Iowa debate
Six Democrats aiming for their party’s presidential nomination are facing off in Iowa on Tuesday night in the first debate of 2020, with votes in the state’s first-in-the-nation caucuses just weeks away.
The debate, hosted by CNN and the Des Moines Register, is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Eastern. The candidates who made the polling and fundraising minimums are former Vice President Joe Biden, former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, billionaire investor Tom Steyer, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.
