A Met Office warning is in place from 4am tomorrow
A weather warning has been issued for parts of Greater Manchester, putting some homes on high alert for flooding.
Heavy rain clouds are set to roll across western parts of the region in the early hours of the morning. Forecasters from the Met Office have issued a yellow alert. The warning is in place from 4am tomorrow , and is due to last until 10am. Slow moving heavy showers are expected to cause travel disruption.Flooding is possible in some areas - and could affect homes and businesses. Members of the public are advised to avoid travelling where possible.
A Met Office alert covers the majority of Wigan and the outskirts of Salford and Bolton. Spray and flooding on roads will probably make journey times longer.A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "A band of slow-moving heavy showers is expected to feed inland across The Wirral, Merseyside and western parts of Greater Manchester during Sunday morning. Whilst some places will only see some rain, a few places may see 30 to 40 mm in two to three hours.
