Ben Field, 29, preyed upon Peter Farquhar by posing as his lover.
A "psychopath" who killed a retired Scots teacher after pretending to be his lover has been forced to pay £124,000 to his victims families.
The BBC dramatised the twisted case this year with the series The Sixth Commandment, starring Timothy Spall and Anne Reid. At the trial he was acquitted of the attempted murder of Mr Farquhar's neighbour Ms Moore-Martin but he also admitted to defrauding her. Detectives on the case described Field as a ‘psychopath’.
