Customers could see their yearly costs go up around £27.19 for broadband and £24.23 for mobile bills on average
Customers with Sky, Vodafone, Three, Virgin Media, O2, and TalkTalk will see their bills go up starting today .
A spokesperson for Virgin Media said the average rise for millions of customers will be lower than the headline inflation amount while some customers will even be excluded from the hikes. A Three spokesperson said: "Similar to many other mobile providers, our pay monthly plans are subject to an annual price change. This year our contract customers whose bill will increase will see an average price increase of less than £1.75 per month.
A Vodafone spokesperson told the M.E.N: "We know no one likes to see prices rise, but, like all industries, we face inflationary pressures that raise the cost of running and investing in our network. Ofcom’s consultation on inflation-linked pricing said that mobile network operators had to set out their pricing more clearly, not in percentages but in ‘pounds and pence.’
