Slime Rancher 2 will take us to the colourful Rainbow Island when it launches into Early Access/Game Preview this fall:

We know that Slime Rancher 2 is set to launch this fall, but game director Nick Popovich has also been able to confirm that it will launch first into Game Preview/Early Access."Slime Rancher 2 will be releasing into Early Access/Game Preview and will not feature achievements at launch," Popovich says.
While this means the game won't initially launch with achievements, Popovich explains how this is a practical decision — if the game launched with achievements, those achievements could only be tied to the portion of the game that initially launches this fall. This way, the achievements can be added later and and relate to the entire game instead of just one portion.
