Step your soup game up with this slow-cooker recipe.
Marcelline Y.I added tomato paste to give it a more Italian taste. I liked it but my husband said it needed more flavor. It will be his lunch so hopefully sitting overnight will increase the flavor.Good, easy, and not too expensive. Pros, very easy prep, steaming hot, and tasty. Stretches two chicken breasts to feed 6. Agree with the member who said there is a slow cooker taste to this soup. Made the recipe tonight and made some quick adjustments to avoid the default slow cooker taste.
I have been reading recipes long enough to expect a baseline and I’m not sure half these reviewers even considered it a crock pot soup. Ingredients could be tasty but sound directions on this lacking.Doubled recipe. Had to add cup extra chicken broth at end because noodles just about soaked up all the original broth. My kids actually liked it more like stew than soup. Served with garlic bread to soak up liquid at bottom of bowls. Liked it!This was awful.

Sweet Potato Pie Recipe on Food52Nothing says 'holidays' to me more than sweet potato pie -- pumpkin pie just can't compare. While this is technically a dessert, you will always catch my family eating it as part of our breakfast the morning after it's made (because calories don't count between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve, of course). I love the pumpkin craze in the fall, but sweet potatoes are the real MVP. For this recipe, you can either boil or roast the sweet potatoes to make the mash for the filling. If boiling, dice the sweet potatoes and boil them in a large pot of water until tender before draining and mashing. If roasting, place sweet potatoes in a 400° F oven for about an hour until tender. Then slice the sweet potatoes and scoop out the pulp from the skin.

Autumn Apple and Pumpkin Galette Recipe on Food52I write a food blog, A Local Choice, where I travel to a destination within 100 miles of Columbus, Ohio, focus on an ingredient they are growing or producing, and write a recipe based off that ingredient. A recent trip brought me to a u-pick apple farm. I knew I wanted to create something for fall that combined the flavors of apple with pumpkin. I have always loved the rustic nature of a galette or free-formed tart and thought this would be a perfect dessert for Thanksgiving or just because. It was delicious warm from the oven and also cold straight out of the refrigerator!
