A change to safety laws means firms face paying out thousands more a year to send products to the EU
Some small British businesses have stopped selling their products to the EU and Northern Ireland as a result of new “complex” rules coming into effect next week – something they say is a “barrier” to growth.

“It is difficult to manage as I don’t want to pass off too many costs to customers but I will have to do some.”Noel Humphrey runs Electron Electronics, which has sold electric equipment since 1984. He added that the GPSR regulations that are coming in are a “bit of a minefield”.
