Well done!
A Nottinghamshire pub at the heart of its community has scooped a national award. The Dog & Parrot in Eastwood triumphed, beating tough competition to win a Community Pub Hero Award.
Glyn was unable to attend the awards ceremony at the House of Commons in London so pub owners Kathryn and David Boam attended on his behalf. As well as a trophy, they picked up £500 from awards sponsor Matthew Clark and PubAid to donate to a charity of their choosing.
PubAid co-founder Des O'Flanagan said: "We received 200 entries for our awards, so reaching the final 15 was an achievement in itself and going on to take one of the top awards is a triumph. We're delighted with the recognition the awards give to all our finalists and winners, who are truly a force for good in their communities."
