Katy Loudon said voters were frustrated that Labour canvassers had only wanted to speak about former SNP MP Ferrier.
The SNP candidate of the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election has accused Labour only focussing on Margaret Ferrier during the campaign.
When asked if Ferrier's actions would have a big affect on the outcome of the election or if people were more interested in talking about the parties, Loudon said: "It is a new conversation [about where the SNP and Labour are at]. "At the forefront of people's minds just now is the cost-of-living crisis and how they're going to get through the winter.
