John Swinney's SNP has gained a near ten-point lead over Labour in the first Westminster opinion poll of 2025, according to a new Survation poll for True North/Holyrood Sources. The poll shows the SNP on 33%, Labour on 24%, with Reform UK and the Conservatives trailing on 15% and 13% respectively. The Liberal Democrats remain steady on 9%. This comes after the SNP's vote collapsed in the July 4th general election, leading to a Labour victory. However, the poll suggests a shift in public opinion, with the SNP regaining ground.

But Keir Starmer’s Government has taken a hit in the polls after cutting winter fuel payments for pensioners and backing a tax-raising Budget.
