A Motherwell couple has taken over the world's oldest Post Office.
Barry Ford and his wife Mary had been living and working in Florida for the last 20 years - until they heard of the opportunity to purchase Sanquhar Post Office in Dumfries and Galloway three years ago.
Many have travelled from afar to have their letters marked with a special handstamp bearing “The World’s Oldest Post Office.” Nazra has since retired and is returning home to the Midlands where she lived before she moved to Sanquhar and where her daughters and granddaughter live.Nazra said: “My husband loved history and was fascinated by the postal history of Sanquhar. He also loved philately, so we bought the business and moved to"The people of Sanquhar are lovely and the scenery in all directions is beautiful.
