Places away from the coast will bear the brunt of the hot temperatures, with the deserts hitting triple digits. An excessive heat warning is in effect through at least Sunday in areas of the Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita Valley.
The valleys and Inland Empire Saturday can expect to reach a high of 98, with some places in the region surpassing 100 degrees. Similar temperatures are on tap Sunday.
