The San Diego Sockers will play one final season at Pechanga Arena. If history holds, it should be a memorable one. The 16-time MASL champions will open their 2023-24 season at home Dec. 3 against the Tacoma Stars, then hit the road for a pair of matches before returning to Pechanga on Dec. 17. The Sockers' 12-game home schedule features one Thursday match, one Friday match, three Saturday matches and seven Sunday matches.
The club will move into Oceanside's Frontwave Arena for the start of the 2024-25 season. Crews broke ground on the 6,000-seat arena in 2021 with hopes that it would be ready for the start of this season. The club announced in August that it would instead play one last season at Pechanga, which has been the team's on-and-off home since 1980. “It’s ‘go time’ and we’re ready to go,” Sockers general manager Sean Bowers said in a news release.
