Clear Springs’ Emma Strood bats against Atascocita Friday, May 6, 2022 at Clear Springs High School.Emma Strood did it all for Clear Springs in its game one win over Atascocita Friday night in a Class 6A area round softball playoff game at the Lady Charger field.
Strood pitched a complete game, struck out 10, had three hits and drove in two runs to power the District 24-6A champions to the victory.The Lady Chargers led 3-2 entering the seventh inning but scored three runs in the top of the inning and then held off an Atascocita rally in the bottom of the frame for the win.
Pearland erupted for six runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull away to an 8-1 win over Humble Summer Creek Friday night in a Class 6A bi-district softball game at Summer Creek High School. The Lady Oilers and Lady Bulldogs meet at 5 p.m., Saturday in Pearland in game two of the best-of-three series.Kennedy Drafton homered and singled in another run to give Pearland an early 2-1 lead.Should Pearland win its series, it would take on Clear Springs or Atascocita in the regional quarterfinals.
