Brett Coomer/Staff photographerI don’t usually fall for this type of clickbait headline, but having spent the better part of the last month in bed with pneumonia, I was weak.Considering how miserable it must be to be a Texans or Rockets fan these days, I was surprised H-Town was ranked so high.
How much beer do you have to drink to enjoy the Texans, who are 4-16-1 at home in the past three seasons? I get all of the factors that go into making a city an overall great sports town, but even with the Texans’ and Rockets’ bottom-of-the-league rankings, the Astros’ run of success should put Houston closer to the top.
With baseball season running from reporting day in February through late October or November, and the celebration continuing, it’s a great time to be a sports fan in Houston. The loudest ovation at the Rockets’ game last night was for World Series MVP Jeremy Peña. Huge crowds gather everywhere the Astros show up.
