A notice reveals that certain Jeep Wrangler models from the 2020-2023 model years have a frame stud that may contact the fuel tank in a crash. If this were to happen, the stud could puncture the tank and start a fire, increasing the risk of injury to occupants and those near the vehicle.first became aware of a potential issue on June 28, 2022, when the FCA US Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance organized opened an investigation after frames were found with the frame stud.
A total of 57,885 vehicles are involved in the recall. Wrangler models in question were built between October 16, 2019, and May 14, 2022.Owners of impacted Jeep Wrangler and Mopar models will be alerted toon or around May 12, 2023, and instructed to bring their vehicle to a dealer where the frame will be inspected. If the frame stud is present, it will be removed and paint will be applied over the hole. Owners who have previously paid to have the issue fixed will be reimbursed.
