Some global stock markets followed the S&P 500’s rally Tuesday, but others retreated

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 2.6% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index added 1.3% in Tuesday’s early afternoon trading in Hong Kong. The Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.5%. The Australian index had been closed Monday for a holiday.
