Need a few spare parts for your vintage 911? This lot includes enough components to open your own shop.
Want to work on one vintage Porsche? You can probably find the parts you need online. Want to work on a massive number of vintage Porsches over the course of years? You can find all the parts you need to do that online, too. One shop owner in California is auctioning off an entire lot of components air-cooled 911s, one made up of thousands of individual parts., the collection was built up over 38 years by Henry Schmidt for a shop called Supertec Performance.
But the collection is more than just engines. Transmissions, suspension components, brakes, clutch assemblies, and everything else you need to keep an air-cooled Porsche running is in the warehouse somewhere, all covered under this one lot. A few bodywork components are included too, although that seems to be limited to hoods and decklids.
The auction runs until Wednesday, with a current high bid of $101,010. If you want to stock a vintage Porsche shop for decades of future work, or if you have one specific vintage Porsche that just always needs one specific part you can never find, this might be a one-time chance to stock up in spectacular fashion.
